Kathy Reiner Martin Leads Team of Volunteers in Stream Clean Up as Part of Project Clean Stream 2006

04.02.06 – Kathy Reiner Martin, candidate for the Baltimore County Council, 5th District, led volunteers on a Project Clean Stream 2006 clean up of the Gunpowder River on April 2, 2006.

Reiner Martin has been active in environmental preservation over

Gloved volunteers armed with heavy duty trash bags snagged an array of trash from the banks of the Gunpowder River on the perfect April day.

The clean up site was a portion of the Gunpowder Falls State Park, accessed at Jones Road near Route 40 East in Eastern Baltimore County.

Project Clean Stream is a regional stream cleaning campaign held in April and organized by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.

The project, which coincides with Earth Day, originated in the Jones Falls Watershed about 30 years ago, and has grown to clean ups at over 100 sites.
